About the Square Image Maker

Prepare a square PNG for a profile, post or thumbnail by adding background space or cropping the image to fill the frame.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image and output size.
  2. Select Fit whole image or Fill square and crop.
  3. Choose a background, create the square and download it.

Fit and fill modes

Fit shows the whole source and uses background space around it. Fill covers the square completely and crops excess edges from the center.

Example

A portrait can be fitted on a 1080 by 1080 white canvas without trimming the subject, or cropped to fill every pixel.

Notes

The output is PNG so the selected background color is preserved. Choose a size appropriate for the service where the image will be used.
