The Word Counter provides an immediate overview of a text without uploading it. It can help check assignment limits, article length, captions and general readability.
Words use the language-aware browser segmenter when available. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines, while sentence endings are estimated from common punctuation marks.
Estimated reading time uses an average pace of 200 words per minute. Actual time varies with language, complexity and the reader.
A 400-word article has an estimated reading time of about two minutes, while character and paragraph totals update as the text is edited.
