About the Fuel Consumption Calculator
This calculator normalizes measured trip distance and fuel quantity into metric and US fuel-economy formats.
Conversion logic
The inputs are first converted to kilometers and liters. L/100 km measures fuel per distance, while km/L and MPG measure distance per fuel quantity.
Example
Traveling 500 km with 37.5 liters equals 7.5 L/100 km, 13.33 km/L and about 31.36 US MPG.
