Pipeline Volume Calculator

Calculate the geometric internal volume of a straight circular pipe segment.

About the Pipeline Volume Calculator

This calculator treats a pipe segment as a straight circular cylinder using entered internal dimensions.

How to use it

  1. Enter inner diameter in meters.
  2. Enter pipe length in meters.
  3. Calculate cubic meters, liters and oil-barrel equivalents.

Formula

Volume = π × (inner diameter ÷ 2)² × length.

Example

A 0.5 m inner diameter over 100 m has an ideal geometric volume near 19.635 m³.

Notes

Fittings, wall geometry, deposits, elevation, pressure, fluid properties and operating conditions are excluded. This is not pipeline design or pressure-safety guidance.
