About the Production Rate Calculator
This calculator normalizes observed output over time and separates stated scrap from good units.
Calculation logic
Hourly rate equals units divided by elapsed hours. Good units equal total units minus scrap units.
Example
1,000 units in 8 hours with 50 scrap units equals 125 gross units/hour, 118.75 good units/hour and 5% scrap.
Notes
Scrap cannot exceed total output. A zero-output interval reports a zero scrap rate rather than dividing by zero.
