About the PSU Calculator
Estimate an approximate PC power budget from major components and small-device allowances before adding PSU headroom.
Estimation logic
The calculator adds entered component wattages plus 5 W per RAM stick, 10 W per drive and 5 W per fan. Headroom is added and the recommendation rounds up to the next 50 W.
Example
A system estimated at 575 W with 25% headroom requires 718.75 W, which rounds to a 750 W recommendation.
Notes
Transient GPU spikes, connector requirements, PSU efficiency curves and manufacturer recommendations are not fully modeled.
