Apply a transparent factor to a stated fuel quantity.
Formula
Estimated kg CO2e equals fuel quantity times the emission factor. Default factors per liter are 2.31 for gasoline, 2.68 for diesel and 1.51 for LPG.
Example
50 liters of gasoline at 2.31 kg CO2e per liter estimates 115.5 kg CO2e.
Notes
Default factors are simplified direct-combustion references and may not include upstream lifecycle emissions. US gallons use 3.785411784 liters.
