Water Pressure Calculator

Calculate ideal static pressure from an entered fluid column height and density.

About the Water Pressure Calculator

Convert vertical fluid height into ideal gauge pressure at the bottom of a static column.

How to use it

  1. Enter vertical height or depth and unit.
  2. Enter fluid density.
  3. Calculate pressure in four units.

Formula

Pressure equals density times gravitational acceleration times vertical height.

Example

Ten meters of water at 1,000 kg/m³ produces about 98.07 kPa of ideal static pressure.

Notes

Atmospheric pressure, motion, surges, vessel geometry and structural limits are not evaluated.
