Speed Distance Time Calculator

Calculate speed, distance or time from the other two values.

About the Speed Distance Time Calculator

This three-mode calculator solves a constant-speed relationship and converts the result into common units.

How to use it

  1. Choose whether to calculate speed, distance or time.
  2. Enter the two values required by that mode and select their units.
  3. Calculate and compare the converted result values.

Formula and logic

The three forms are speed = distance ÷ time, distance = speed × time and time = distance ÷ speed. Values are normalized to meters and seconds.

Example

Traveling 100 km in 2 hours gives an average speed of 50 km/h, about 13.8889 m/s.

Notes

This is a constant or average speed relationship and does not model acceleration, stops, route conditions or operational constraints.
