How to use it
- Enter the data size and choose MB, GB or TB.
- Enter the available transfer time.
- Calculate to compare Mbps, Gbps and MB/s.

Estimate the data rate required to move a file within a target transfer time.
This estimator converts a stated data size and transfer window into decimal network rates.
The file size is converted to bits and divided by the duration in seconds. Decimal units are used: 1 GB equals 1,000 MB.
Eight bits equal one byte, so 800 Mbps corresponds to 100 MB/s before protocol overhead and other real-world limits.
The result is an ideal required rate. Congestion, protocol overhead, storage speed and equipment can extend an actual transfer.
