Estimate PC energy consumption and electricity cost over time.
Translate an average PC power draw into approximate energy use and cost for a typical day, 30-day month and 365-day year.
Daily kWh = watts × hours ÷ 1,000. Monthly and yearly energy multiply the daily value by 30 and 365; cost equals kWh × price.
A 400 W PC used 8 hours daily consumes about 3.2 kWh per day and 96 kWh in a 30-day month.
Actual power changes with workload and idle time. Measure at the wall for a better average and use the billing currency associated with your entered price.
