Solution Concentration Calculator

Relate entered solute mass, molar mass and solution volume numerically.

About the Solution Concentration Calculator

This calculator derives an amount in moles and two concentration measures from three entered quantities.

How to use it

  1. Enter solute mass in grams.
  2. Enter molar mass in g/mol and solution volume in liters.
  3. Calculate molarity and mass concentration.

Formula

Moles = mass ÷ molar mass; molarity = moles ÷ liters; mass concentration = grams ÷ liters.

Example

5.844 g with molar mass 58.44 g/mol in 1 L gives 0.1 mol and 0.1 mol/L.
