Estimate sustained damage per second from hit rate, critical hits and bonus damage.
Damage per second (DPS) summarizes average sustained output rather than the result of one hit.
Base DPS is damage per hit multiplied by attacks per second. Expected critical damage weights normal and critical hits by their probabilities before applying the bonus.
A 100-damage attack used twice per second has 200 base DPS. A 25% chance to deal 2x damage raises expected DPS to 250 before other bonuses.
This is a mathematical average. Real encounters may differ because of misses, armor, downtime, buffs or game-specific rounding.
