Calculate a work interval in hours and minutes after subtracting breaks.
Calculate the duration of a shift or work session and subtract a break to get net time in hours, minutes and decimal hours.
Total time is the end date-time minus the start date-time. Net work time equals total minutes minus the entered break minutes.
A shift from 9:00 to 17:30 lasts 8 hours 30 minutes. After a 30-minute break, the net result is 8.00 decimal hours.
The calculator measures a continuous interval and does not apply overtime, rounding or payroll rules. Confirm those rules with the relevant employer or policy.
