About the JPG to PNG Converter

Use this tool to export the visible pixels of a JPG as a PNG file without sending the image to a server.

How to use it

  1. Choose a JPG or JPEG file.
  2. Select Convert to PNG.
  3. Check the preview and download the PNG.

How conversion works

The image is decoded by the browser, drawn to a canvas at its original dimensions and exported with PNG encoding.

Example

A JPEG screenshot can be converted to PNG before further pixel-level editing or use in a PNG-only workflow.

Notes

Converting to PNG does not restore detail already removed by JPG compression, and the PNG file may be larger than the source.
