Dilution Calculator

Solve one missing value in the C1 × V1 = C2 × V2 relationship.

About the Dilution Calculator

This calculator rearranges a proportional concentration-volume relationship for one missing value.

How to use it

  1. Enter exactly three positive values.
  2. Leave C1, V1, C2 or V2 empty to calculate it.
  3. Use consistent concentration and volume units on both sides.

Formula

The relationship is C1 × V1 = C2 × V2.

Example

C1 = 1, V1 = 0.1 and C2 = 0.2 gives V2 = 0.5 in the same volume unit as V1.

Notes

The output is arithmetic only. It does not instruct users how to mix, prepare, store or use any substance.
