About the PNG to JPG Converter

This converter changes a PNG image into a JPG file in the current browser tab. JPG is useful when transparency is not needed and a smaller photographic file is preferred.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PNG image.
  2. Adjust quality and select a color for transparent pixels.
  3. Convert the image, review the preview and download the JPG.

How conversion works

The browser draws the PNG onto a canvas, fills transparent areas with the selected color and exports the pixels as JPEG.

Common conversion

A transparent product image can be converted to a white-background JPG for systems that do not accept PNG transparency.

Notes

JPG uses lossy compression and cannot preserve transparency. Keep the original PNG when you may need transparent pixels later.
