Unix Timestamp Converter

Convert between Unix timestamps and human-readable UTC date-times.

Used when converting a UTC date to a timestamp.
Used when converting a timestamp. Seconds and milliseconds are detected automatically.

About the Unix Timestamp Converter

Unix time represents an instant as elapsed seconds since 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC. This converter also recognizes common millisecond timestamps.

How to use it

  1. Choose the conversion direction.
  2. Enter either a UTC date-time or a numeric timestamp in the matching field.
  3. Convert to see seconds, milliseconds and a readable UTC value.

Seconds or milliseconds

Modern APIs may use either 10-digit second values or 13-digit millisecond values. The converter detects the scale and returns both representations.

Example

The Unix timestamp 0 corresponds to January 1, 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC. A value of 1735689600 corresponds to January 1, 2025 at 00:00:00 UTC.

UTC convention

Unix timestamps identify an instant independently of a display timezone. Date input on this page is interpreted as UTC so the conversion remains predictable.
